Envelope Factory Turned Office Building

Transforming a factory into office space can seem like a daunting task, particularly if the factory was built in 1905, but this is exactly what was done with 400 Bryant St. Luckily for us, our photographer, Fran Dwight, was able to document this process every step of the way.

Beginning outside the building, we can see a new parking lot, new landscaping, and all new industrial windows!

Moving inside, the brick walls were sandblasted, new walls were added, floors refinished, and a whole lot of paint!

One of my favorite features is the giant skylight that streams light to all the floors below creating an atrium.

Last but not least, office areas, reception desks, kitchenettes, and bathrooms were finished.

Once the final finishes complete, we were happy to welcome Kalamazoo County’s Department of Health and Human Services to their newly transformed home late last year!
